A Bit About Kaitlin
Teacher and Performer Bio
Kaitlin Booth is a passionate cellist with an innate talent for teaching and performing. She enjoys working with students of all ages, and loves the thrill of understanding when something difficult “clicks” for the first time.

Kaitlin's performance history started at the age of 11 when she first started playing the cello. Her love of the instrument and profound dedication brought her all the way to a university level, where she studied on a music scholarship at Utah Valley University under the tutelage of Dr. Cheung Chau and Walter Haman, and at the University of Utah, where she currently studies with Pegsoon Whang and John Eckstein.
She has a strong background in performing classical music and loves the work of great classical composers such as Bach, Beethoven, and Brahms. Kaitlin has performed in venues such as Abravanel Hall, Eccles Concert Hall, Libby Gardner Concert Hall, Dumke Recital Hall, Noorda Center Concert Hall, and the De Jong Concert Hall, as well as in cities across the United States, Dominican Republic, and Brazil. She made her international solo debut as a participant of the International Musician's Academy in Vidin, Bulgaria in July 2024, where she performed the Schumann Cello Concerto with the Sinfonietta Vidin.
Kaitlin has a gentle approach to her teaching that brings great results based on her professional knowledge and experiences.

Aside from her teaching and graduate school work, Kaitlin enjoys performing across Utah Valley with her string quartet, Artiva Strings (artivastrings.com); recording with local songwriters and producers; hiking the Rocky Mountains; making homemade sourdough bread; and spending time with her husband, Preston!
